Day One: The Trip TO london

At 8am, the journey began: we loaded the car, picked up some classmates, and headed to the airport (after I went back for my passport, of course).

There were no hiccups or accidents when it came to the airport and flight process. Yes, we even made it through baggage claim and customs without an issue. Generally, there isn't 'smooth sailing' when I'm involved. I guess Friday the 13th was being generous to international travelers.

I was moved into Economy Plus (three seats to myself, heeeck yes!) and managed to check two movies off of the list on the way! We lost five hours, so that made for an interesting day in London. We hit the ground running at 5:30am. You didn't misread. That says am.

Our hotel didn't allow for check in before 3pm, so everyone had the day to explore before a nap was in sight. Mia and I spent our day exploring Soho and Covent Garden. We walked for 10 hours straight shopping, sight seeing, and eating.

After a long awaited shower and nap, we headed to Byron, a hamburger palace, and ate an extremely well balanced meal. Check in tomorrow for the real London experience- our first day of tours, educational lessons, and WWII sights.
